Rohan Tambyrajah

Global Head of Strategy @ PHD


Rohan is a communication strategist with over 15 years’ experience working in agencies and media companies. His strategic capabilities are centred around a background in digital and a fascination with how technology is changing consumer and brand behaviour.

As the Head of Strategy in PHD Global Business, he heads up a large team of strategists, planners and innovators and oversees the strategic output across PHDs portfolio of large global brands. He works with household brands such as HSBC, VF Corp, VW Group and HP.

Prior to PHD, Rohan worked at Arena Havas as their Director of Innovation, steering brands such as Domino’s Pizza and Eurostar to more effective applications of creative technology and media. Here he was named one of Campaign Magazine’s ‘Faces to Watch’.

Outside of his agency remit, Rohan is a frequent speaker at events and conferences in the UK and abroad, and has been invited to judge at various industry awards. He co-authored PHD’s last 2 books: Sentience: The coming AI revolution and its implication for brands and Merge: The closing gap between technology and us. He has also been published in a number of trade publications such as Admap, Campaign and M&M Global.  

His work has been recognised by local and global awards bodies including M&M, Cristal, Media Week and Campaign.

He was born and raised in the UK, the son of a Physics Lecturer and an Art Teacher. He is an English Literature graduate and completed the IPA Excellence Diploma in 2014.
